Position Summary
Concho County Hospital is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to support daily operations within the clinical laboratory. The ideal candidate will assist with specimen collection, processing, safety procedures, and workflow organization to ensure timely and accurate results. This is a position that requires on-call flexibility, ideally 4-5 nights a week 5pm-7am and a weekend as needed. 
Key Responsibilities

Concho County District Hospital is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional care in a rural Critical Access Hospital and a commitment to improving the quality of healthcare in our community. As a key leader in our nursing department, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing (“DON”) to ensure that quality healthcare services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reporting: Under the direction of the DON, develop and deliver comprehensive board-level reports on nursing operations, patient care, and other key metrics.

• Collaboration: Work with other District Directors and interdisciplinary teams to implement strategies that enhance healthcare programs and services across the region.

• Leadership: Assist the DON in overseeing day-to-day nursing operations, providing guidance and support to nursing staff.

• Program Management: Ensure the effective delivery of care programs, specifically in the Emergency Department (Trauma Coordinator) and Swingbed Program, with a focus on program growth, quality improvement, patient safety, and compliance.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure that patient care meets or exceeds established standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in a hospital/free-standing trauma designated Emergency Department, Swingbed Program a plus.

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Alternatively, five years of directly related experience in a rural Critical Access Hospital will be considered in lieu of a BSN.

• Leadership Skills: Proven experience in a leadership role within a healthcare setting, including the ability to lead teams, manage change, and collaborate with diverse departments.

• Clinical Expertise: Extensive knowledge and experience in critical care, emergency services, and rural hospital settings.

• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and present complex reports to senior leadership and the Board.

The Ideal candidate should possess three (3) years of healthcare administration experience, including one (1) year of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting. A Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or a related field is desirable. Five (5) years of directly related work experience in a rural clinic setting may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor’s, or more than six (6) years of comparable experience in healthcare. Candidates that are a Certified Rural Health Clinic Professional (CRHCP) is a plus. Reporting to the District CEO, and responsible for developing and delivering Board level reports, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with other District Directors to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare programs and services to the region.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as proficiency in business office equipment and financial software and systems is required. Knowledge of CPSI (Trubridge) is a plus.
